It’s that time of the year once again: To enjoy dancing Tango at San Francisco’s Union Square.
Tango in the Square first began on September 11th 2005 and has been happening every summer since as part of San Francisco’s “Diamonds on the Square” series (now called Union Square Live) in the heart of San Francisco. This is a great event for non-tango dancers to get an introduction to Tango and for all of us die-hards, to enjoy dancing to fantastic live Tango music in the middle of Union Square.
This year’s program is as follows: A DJ set starts the dancing off at 2pm, tango lessons begin at 2:30 and live music and open dance kick-off from 3pm onwards. This year there are no scheduled performances, so make sure to get there early to get in as much dancing as possible.
Here is the schedule:
Sunday, August 25: Trio Garufa
2:00pm until 6:00pm
DJ Zeycan will play music between sets and the lovely Mirabai Deranja will be teaching a 20-minute introductory class.
