The Verdi Club Milonga

Verdi is one of the most popular and traditional milongas in San Francisco.  The Verdi club was established in 1916 as a private Italian club and is a beautiful classy space for dancing.  For the Thursday Milonga, tables surround the floor with candles and wine and refreshments can be purchased at the bar in the adjoining room. This milonga is hosted by Christy Cote and Adolfo Caszarry with DJ Emilio Flores and various guest DJs. Drop in beginner (starts at 7pm) and intermediate classes (8pm) are before the milonga taught by Christy and Adolfo or guest instructors. Milonga 9-1am.

Admission: $5 beginner class/ $10 intermediate class/ $10 milonga ($15 with live music)
Parking: Fairly easy nearby on street, please read signs for street cleaning and don’t leave valuables in car

Red Victorian Tango Salon

The Red Victorian is a classic Victorian located in the Haight Ashbury neighborhood of San Francisco. Floor is on the smaller side, but it offers a friendly place to dance to take a class and dance. Hosts are Yumiko Krupenina (2012 Salon Tango Champion) and Ivan Shvarts (Founder of the Golden Age Tango Academy a nonprofit 501C3)

Stanford Practilonga

Tango in the South Bay!  Stanford’s Practilonga (in between a practica and a milonga) features a different DJ every week. Diego Lanau teaches an 8 week series class before hand.  Practilonga is from 10:00pm – 12:00pm. For more info visit Stanford Tango Club website
