Here is your opportunity to learn Tango from one of the best! Luciana Valle returns to San Francisco: September 8-18, 2017
Luciana began tango in the early 1990s studying under Gustavo Naviera, Fabian Salas, Pepito Avellaneda, Mingo Pugliese and Graciela Gonzales. Between 1995 and 1997 she collaborated with Gustavo Naviera and Fabian Salas in an ambitous project to codify and systematize the movement vocabulary of nuevo tango, called the “Tango Investigation” group. As a result, she was able to master the leader’s role with these originators of the “Nuevo Tango” tradition.
In 1996 she began touring, performing and teaching outside of Argentina. Today, she runs classes, practicas and a milonga at her school in Buenos Aires, El Motivo Tango, that has become a favorite with some of the best dancers in Buenos Aires and abroad.
Luciana is regarded around the world as one of the most dynamic and articulate teachers working in tango today. She has trained a number of today’s most successful dancers and teachers and continues to inspire with remarkable insight, energy and clarity. She teaches principles which allow students to enjoy a thrilling depth and subtlety in tango and has a profound understanding of tango’s tradition, structure, and style. She also has a remarkable insight into the special challenges of learning tango outside Argentina.
Her classes focus on the structure of the dance, the technical keys to moving comfortably and expressively, and the strong connection between leaders and followers, challenging and benefiting both leaders and followers alike.
Luciana has developed a passionate following drawn to her magnetic and expressive personality and her enthusiastic devotion to tango. She is an energetic and inspiring teacher noted for her technical clarity and her special genius at conveying the sensuous style and soul of tango. Her classes focus on understanding the structure of the dance, the technical keys to move comfortably and expressively and the strong connection required to lead and follow. Her workshops will give you the technical foundation to find and develop your own personal style.
Personally, I’ve taken many classes from Luciana and am a big fan. See www.sfbaytango.com for details, registration info, and updates.
