Allegro Milonga

Allegro Ballroom, 5855 Christie Avenue, Emeryville, CA Map

This relaxed Thursday Milonga is hosted by Mat MaMoody and often hosts visiting instructors. DJ Emilio Flores plays a variety of traditional Argentine Tango music. After 11:15, be prepared for Nuevo, Alternative, and contemporary Tango’s such as late Pugliese with no tandas nor cortinas.
Two classes: 7:30 - 9pm, Milonga: 9pm - 12am

Admission: 2 Classes & Milonga $16, Milonga $8

Herbst Theater - SF Loves TangoMilonga La Paz at War Memorial Veterans Building

Milonga La Paz is located in Room 212 of the beautiful Herbst Theater. It’s hosted by Ivan Schartz of the Golden Age Tango Academy 501c3 and is sponsored by the American Legion Post 315, Veterans for Peace and OneVet OneVoice.

DJs and dance instructors rotate. A nice, friendly addition to the San Francisco milongas. Snacks and wine provided.
7-11pm Milonga with rotating DJs

Admission: $15 guided practica/ Milonga $10, Veterans Free
Parking:
Street parking can be tricky, best to take public transportation. Civic Center Bart is nearby.

Milonga Malevaje - First Thursday Every Month

The Verdi Club, 2424 Mariposa St at Potrero St., San Francisco, CA Map

Milonga Malevaje is held once a month at the classic Italian Dance Hall, the Verdi Club. It’s a wonderful space, with a stage for musicians, a large dance floor and a separate room for the bar. Hosted by Adolfo Caszarry and rotating DJs, it’s a fun and special milonga. Get there early to get parking and grab a bite nearby before the milonga.

MILONGA from 9:00 to 1:00 pm

Admission: Class $10, Milonga $15, Both $25

The Next Practica at the BeatThe Beat

The Beat, 2560 9th Street, between Dwight Way & Parker, Berkeley, CA Map

The Beat is a dance studio in Berkeley offering a variety of dance classes. Homer and Cristina are teaching a “shoes optional” Gender Neutral All-Level Skills Class 8:15-9:00, followed by a Supervised Alternative Music Practica till 11:00. A very friendly and welcoming place for dancers of all levels to practice.

Admission: $10 practica with class
