This Friday, May 4 is $10 night at the Monte Cristo Milonga. Price includes two classes and live music with Ville & Maho!
The Beginning class is at 7:00pm and the Intermediate class with Carolina Rozensztroch is at 8pm. Carolina will be teaching “Volcadas in Combinations.”
The Monte Cristo Club from the outside appears to be a spacious townhouse. It’s really a non-profit Italian social club in operation since 1937. Besides a bar and a wood dance floor there is also a bocce ball court. (Sorry, no bocce ball during the milonga.)
The Monte Cristo Milonga is one of the longest running milongas in San Francisco. Started by Gary and Nirmala in September of 1997, this year they will be celebrating their 15th anniversary. Wow!
Ville Hiltula (Bandoneon/Accordion) and Maho Nabeshima (pianist) are the moving parts of an international tango duo. Their repertoire covers a wide range of tango styles, from danceable classics to nuevo and some contemporary compositions.
